National lecturer and author Beau Sharbrough will present "Jewish Research on Footnote.com" and "Automated Search Tools" at the next meeting of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Illinois, on Sunday, June 14.
The meeting begins at 12.30pm at Temple Beth Israel in Skokie.
Sharbrough is familiar to attendees of Jewish and general genealogical conferences, who have always enjoyed both his knowledge and sense of humor.
A Houston native, Sharbrough earned a BA in philosophy from Texas A&M in 1977. Since 1980, he has been involved with programming, and is currently self-employed.
He's the founder of the FGS web site, the GENTECH web site, and the Lexicon Working Group. The former president of GENTECH, he has previously been Ancestry.com product manager for tree products and Footnote.com content vice president.
He writes regularly on technical topics in family history, and also maintains the humor, RootsWorks.com website. He is the author of Gene’s Anniversary Scrapbook.
