The genealogy department of the Largo Library will host the next meeting of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Tampa Bay, on Sunday, June 14.
The meeting begins at 1.30pm, and will feature an introduction to the library's genealogical holdings, followed by personal research assistance for participants.
The Largo Public Library is the center for genealogical research for the Pinellas Public Library Cooperative. It has twice earned the Florida State Genalogical Society award for Outstanding Achievement. The Pinellas Genealogy Society's (PGS) reference library is housed at the Largo branch, which makes it one of the best regional genealogical collections.
The individual research section will include use of the microfilm readers and computer facilities with assistance if needed until the library closes at 5pm. PGS volunteers staff the genealogy department and will give the overview and private tour as well as help with the guided assistance.
