Highlights of each international conference on Jewish genealogy include the various special interest group luncheons. One of the best of the SIG luncheons is always JRI-Poland with excellent speakers.
JRI-Poland has announced that the speaker for its luncheon on Sunday, August 2, will be executive director Monika Krawczyk of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland.
JRI-Poland's luncheons are always kosher and take place on the opening conference day. This event always sells out quickly, so if you are interested in attending, you should register for the fee-added event as soon as possible.
Krawczyk will speak on efforts to preserve Polish Jewish cemeteries, cooperation with various groups such as landsmanschaften and Orthodox communities, the current situation in Poland, Polish Antiquities Authority cooperation and recent discoveries of Jewish tombstones with a potential genealogical component.
