New Jersey: When the Holocaust strikes home, May 27

When the Holocaust strikes home, with Roger Flartey, is the topic for the next Jewish Genealogical Society of Northern New Jersey on Thursday, May 27.

The program begins at 7.30pm, at the YM-YHWA, in Wayne. The library opens at 7pm. At left, see section of a 1780 map of northern New Jersey. It looks "just a little different" these days!

Flartey, an attorney, has been interested in genealogy since the early 1980s.

While researching his maternal grandfather's family, he discovered that a number of relatives had been killed during the Holocaust in what is now Belarus. The results of his investigation were detailed in his short book, "The Holocaust Strikes Home."

A member of the Northern New Jersey JGS, he is a lifelong New Jersey resident.

Fee: No charge; all are welcome.
