Top 40: Nominate your favorite gen blogs

Here's something for Tracing the Tribe's readers to get involved in.

Family Tree Magazine is asking its readers to nominate their favorite geneablogs for its list of the best 40 genealogy blogs. Nominations will be accepted through September 30.

According to the mag's Genealogy Insider blog post:
Do you have a favorite few genealogy blogs that you read regularly? Maybe the blogger offers excellent genealogy advice, insightful analysis or a unique point of view. Or the writing is especially creative or humorous.

If so, we want to know about it.

In the May 2010 issue, we’ll be naming the FamilyTree Magazine 40 Best Genealogy Blogs (“Family Tree 40” for short).

First, we’re asking the genealogy community to nominate the genealogy blogs they read most. Later, family historians will vote on their favorite blogs in several categories.
Click here (or on the FT40 logo in the sidebar at right) to nominate favorite geneablogs - I hope Tracing the Tribe is one of your favorites. I'll also be nominating several excellent blogs written by my geneablogger colleagues.

While you're at the magazine's website, also take a look at the recently added must-read essential book list for researchers of Jewish ancestry, Ashkenazi or Sephardic.

Voting will take place from October 5-November 5, and the Family Tree 40 will be announced in the May 2010 Family Tree Magazine. Follow updates in the publication's weekly newsletter, and in the Genealogy Insider blog. You can also follow the magazine's Twitter feed (hashtag #FT40).
