Virginia: Beginner's workshop April 22

If you're just getting started in genealogy and want to learn more, the Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Washington DC is offering a workshop - Jewish Genealogy for Beginners - with Arline Sachs.

The workshop is set for April 22 at Olam Tikvah in Fairfax, VA.

JGSGW past president Arline Sachs offers a two-hour program packed with resources, hints and encouragement.

Sachs retired from teaching computer information systems at Northern Virginia Community College and is now co-hostess of "Tracing Your Family Roots" on Fairfax public-access TV.

The workshop is free, but only open to society members; non-members may join on the
day of the workshop. Reservations are required: e-mail JGSGW_DC@comcast.net.

For directions and more information, visit the JGSGW Web site.

JGSGW is very ecited about having this Beginner's Workshop in Virginia. About 20 per cent of our current membership lives in northern VA and we are hoping to grow that number, as the Jewish population in that area grows. We are very fortunate to have as an instructor, Arline Sachs, a JGSGW past-president and an experienced researcher. We have had an excellent response, so this will be well attended. - Marlene Bishow, President, JGSGW
