Readers who live in Palm Beach County year-round or just for the winter should be aware of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Palm Beach County, established in 1991.
The JGSPBC has an extensive reference library, holds beginner workshops, publishes a quarterly journal, plans informative meetings and has many experienced members.
The next meeting on Wednesday, November 14, will host Helene Kenvin in "The Genealogical Detective," a program on how to think like a genealogist, which will be held at the South County Civic Center in Delray Beach.
The day begins at 11.30am with a meeting of the Poland Special Interest Group, followed by registration and Brick Wall Session at 12.30pm, with the main program at 1pm.
Kenvin, a long-time JGSPBCI member and expert genealogist, has been researching her family history and genealogy for more than 31 years.
She is a frequent lecturer at local genealogy meetings and international conferences and is the Web Leader of three genealogy websites. She is the founder and President of The Caucasus Network, an international, all-volunteer organization that has rescued thousands of Jews from the Caucasus and Central Asian republics of the former Soviet Union.
