The event begins at 2pm at the Mid-Island Y-JCC, Plainview.
A New York-based engineer, musician, attorney and filmmaker who grew up in Montreal, Roma learned about her hidden history about a year ago when a genealogist contacted her searching for family connections.
For the first time, she realized that her parents had hidden from her the fact that they were Jews.
Roma will describe – in photos, documents and maps – how she has systematically reconstructed the story of her large family.
For more information and directions, see the JGSLI website. Admission is free. JGSLI's "mispacha mavens" will take questions from 1.30pm.
