A good year, a sweet year!

Tracing the Tribe
wishes all its readers,
their families and friends
a sweet and happy New Year 5770 filled with love, joy, health and prosperity.
שנה טובה ומתוקה
שנת בריאות ואושר
שנה של התגשמות
כל משאלות ההלב

May the New Year also assist your genealogical quest. Tracing the Tribe hopes that you will discover as many new records this year as the number of pomegranate seeds you eat on Rosh Hashanah!

  1. As the child of a half-Sephardic father who died when I was young (his Sephardic mother died before my parents married) and a Russian/Polish, thoroughly Litvak mother, I never saw a pomegranate until I had Rosh Hashanah dinner with a Sephardic cousin. I doubt that there were any pomegranates in Russia - or am I wrong?

Is a pomegranate thoroughly Galicianer, Sephardic, or am I (or my family) odd?
