JTA reported that the remains of an ancient synagogue were found on Turkey's southern coast.
The story indicated that the report was in the Turkish daily paper Zaman, and that this was the first evidence of a Jewish presence in Anriake, a port city in Lycia.
Akdeniz University archaeology professor Nevzat Çevik was quoted: "We're adding another layer to what we know of Lycian culture. Now that we know that there was a Jewish presence in Lycia as well, we can follow this path and better understand other finds.”
Tracing the Tribe now has another dimension!
