While Volume I included 31 communities, this second volume includes an additional 21 (Alsedziai, Antaliepte, Balbieriskis, Darbenai, Gruzdziai, Kelme, Kavarskas, Mazeikiai, Pajuris, Plunge, Raguva, Salakas, Salociai, Sirvintos, Saukenai, Uzpaliai, Vyzuonos, Varniai, Zarasai, Zagare, and Ziezmariai).
According to Carol Skydell, JewishGen's vice president of special projects:
a wide range of material in Lithuanian, Hebrew and Yiddish, including newspapers and Yad Vashem archives, and has painstakingly investigated every detail of life. Every possible name, photograph and date has been included.
